Just trying to get a clear picture. I've been through mouse problems with the scroll wheel on a WIn 98 computer in the house here. I bought the Intellimouse Explorer 4.0. It is a perfect mouse for my hand. It is comfortable and light. However, there is a major flaw with the mouse that I am sure is correctable with a driver When using the IE 3.0a, the older mouse, the scroll wheel had "ratchets" or "clicks" when you moved the scroll wheel.

Besides, Windows was not born overnight either. Well, on Win32 the scrollwheel is really popular for browsing and word processing. I use my scroll wheel about once a day... maybe.
